Sanity

Pull documents from a Sanity dataset with the sanity() source — a GROQ query picks the documents and their Portable Text bodies become Markdown.

The built-in sanity() adapter runs a GROQ query and maps each document’s fields to frontmatter and its Portable Text body to Markdown. The adapter declares @sanity/client as its runtime dependency — an optional peer, so install it only if you use this source.

A read token for a private dataset comes from the SANITY_TOKEN environment variable, which the adapter declares. Custom Portable Text block types map to Blume components through the engine’s serializers option, available when you construct sanitySource directly and pass it to custom(). Setting serializers writes the source’s pages as MDX, so a component or directive a serializer returns renders.
